We’re on the lookout for a proactive and detail-focused Building Services Design/Project Manager to join our dynamic Sustainability and Decarbonisation team. This role plays a key part in delivering innovative and efficient building service solutions, focusing on mechanical and electrical systems. The successful candidate will be involved in overseeing design and implementation efforts, primarily within the education sector on a national scale, working closely with multiple stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of building services projects, adhering to relevant standards and regulatory frameworks.
- Collaborate with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to align project activities with timelines and objectives.
- Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and available resources for optimal performance.
- Partner with design managers and project stakeholders to embed sustainable, forward-thinking solutions into service designs.
- Offer technical leadership and insight throughout all phases of project development.
- Carry out regular site visits to track progress, troubleshoot challenges, and uphold quality benchmarks.
- Partnering with design teams, engineers, and external collaborators to craft innovative service solutions.
- Conducting on-site evaluations to assess progress and ensure adherence to quality and design goals.
- Sharing regular updates and clarifying project needs with all involved parties.
- Ensuring projects remain within budget and are delivered on time through effective planning.
- Providing ongoing technical direction from concept through to completion.
- A degree in engineering or a related discipline; additional certifications are advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and management of building services, ideally with exposure to the retail sector.
- Knowledge of JCT Contracts.
- Expertise in mechanical and electrical systems, from concept to implementation.
- Strong communication and team collaboration skills, with a track record of working effectively in multidisciplinary environments.
