About the Role of Chair
- The Chair leads and supports the Board of Trustees, working closely with the Executive Director and Board to provide strategic leadership, support effective governance and ensure the organisation grows sustainably while remaining connected to the communities and creative sectors it serves.

- Foster an open, collaborative and inclusive Board culture, supporting constructive discussion, strong decision‑making and effective governance.
- Act as a trusted sounding board to the Executive Director, providing support, encouragement and constructive challenge.
- Help strengthen partnerships and relationships across the cultural, public, private and charitable sectors.
- Provide strategic leadership during a significant period of growth and development.
About You
- We are particularly interested in individuals who bring previous Board or Chair experience and the capacity to provide strategic leadership within a growing and evolving organisation.
- Previous Board or Chair experience.
- Sound judgements, strong relationship‑building skills and the confidence to support and challenge constructively.
- Comfortable operating within a collaborative environment and able to guide organisational development during a period of change and increasing visibility.
- Experience within areas such as culture, regeneration, placemaking, the public sector, education, community development, property, partnerships or organisational leadership is valuable.
- Connections across Glasgow’s cultural, civic or policy landscape are advantageous.
- Enthusiasm for creativity, collaboration and social impact, and a motivation to support the future of one of Glasgow’s most dynamic cultural organisations.
