The Falkirk Football Community Foundation is a community charity partner of Falkirk Football Club, proudly serving the communities of Forth Valley since our formation in 2010. We are a registered Scottish charity (SC041791) and a company limited by guarantee, governed by a committed Board of Trustees. We work with local and national partners to deliver innovative programmes that engage people across all age groups and backgrounds, from children as young as one to residents aged over 100. Our work is rooted in the belief that sport and education can be transformative forces for good.

Our Programmes

Our work spans four key areas, all aligned with addressing the most pressing needs in our communities:

  • Mental Health & Wellbeing — including sessions supporting social isolation and emotional resilience.
  • Education & Employability — helping young people and adults gain skills, qualifications and confidence.
  • Physical Health — football sessions, disability sport, and activity programmes for all ages.
  • School Delivery — curriculum-linked programmes delivered directly in schools across Forth Valley.

Role Description & Responsibilities

What it means to be a Falkirk Football Community Foundation Trustee. Trustees are the legal guardians of the Falkirk Football Community Foundation. You will work alongside the Chief Executive and senior staff team to provide strategic oversight, ensure good governance, and champion the Foundation’s mission in the wider community. Trusteeship is a voluntary role, but it is one of the most meaningful ways you can contribute to the life of our community. As a Trustee you will shape decisions that directly affect thousands of people across Forth Valley.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership for the Foundation, working collaboratively with fellow Trustees and the executive team.
  • Ensure the Foundation complies with its charitable purposes, Scottish charity law, and its governing documents.
  • Safeguard the Foundation’s financial health — approving annual budgets, monitoring financial performance, and ensuring proper use of funds.
  • Promote and protect the reputation and values of the Falkirk Foundation.
  • Ensure effective risk management frameworks are in place and regularly reviewed.
  • Contribute to the recruitment, support and appraisal of the Chief Executive.
  • Act as an ambassador for the Falkirk Football Community Foundation, Falkirk FC in building relationships with funders, partners, and the wider community.
  • Attend and actively participate in Board meetings, sub-committees, and Foundation events.
  • Declare any conflicts of interest openly and in line with the Foundation’s policy.
