About the role
Corporate Units play an integral role in setting and delivering our strategy and partnering with our business units in their plans for growth. We shape and steer the direction of the business by managing our people, finances, suppliers, shared services and buildings. We also oversee our legal, regulatory and compliance obligations. A career in the Corporate Units is close to the strategic action and never dull. We exist as four centralised teams – Finance and Business Services, Human Resources, Legal, Company Secretary and Regulatory Affairs and Corporate Affairs.
This is an exciting role working across both the huge BT estate portfolio and at the centre of the BT property team. The role will be at the forefront of setting the estate strategy for BT’s operational buildings and will work with stakeholders across BT in the delivery of key projects including rationalisation and closure of specialised estate buildings for disposal and handback to landlords.
What you’ll be doing
- Specialised estate strategy lead working with key Networks, Openreach and BT International stakeholders to identify rationalisation and consolidation opportunities.
- Deliver key projects to contribute to the overall BTP&FS strategic plan.
- Supporting the formulation of a transformational specialised estate strategy, optimising and rationalising the specialised estate portfolio.
- Undertaking early due diligence and/or stakeholder engagement to determine/challenge reprovision needs for a pipeline of building closures.
- Determining and agreeing vacation and reprovision briefs - owning and driving the delivery of multiple projects for disposals and hand backs to landlords.
- Working across P&FS teams as a key interface and information provider on the estate and/or to CFUs/CUs.
- Own the delivery of the projects to final closure including changes, management of risks and resolutions in line with project management principles.
Essential Skills / Experience
- Strong relationship management skills, with the ability to build and sustain a broad and effective network of stakeholders across the property team and wider BT Group, driving collaboration and alignment to achieve shared outcomes.
- Proven programme or project management capability, able to define and structure key deliverables, milestones and interdependencies, ensuring plans are clear, realistic and aligned to business priorities.
- Ability to monitor delivery and provide clear, concise reporting on progress, risks and issues, with confidence in communicating potential jeopardy to a range of stakeholders.
Desirable Skills / Experience
- Experience operating within property, estates or facilities environments, with an understanding of how strategic programmes impact operational delivery.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and manage senior stakeholders and balance competing priorities.
