About this role As a business, we have an important role to play in Cyber Security. Our work has a huge impact across the globe and affects all types of companies. Youll help deliver a first-class customer experience to different customers, whove all got very different and complex security needs. As part of your apprenticeship, youll rotate around different areas of the business, meaning youll get to find out which areas you like the most (and those you dont!). Youll be working across a variety of different platforms and technologies, including Data Centre Servers, Networking and Cloud based tools, meaning youll develop a wide range of skills when it comes to our products. But its not all just about working with our customers to help them with their security needs. Youll need to have a business mindset when it comes to process. We always want to make things better for our customers, so youll be involved in our continuous improvement strategy, using feedback and data to improve our services. We know its a lot of information to take in from the beginning of your journey, so well start you off with some key concepts like security, identity and confidentiality and how they relate to each other. Youll also learn about integrity, availability, threat, vulnerability, risk and hazard and so much more. On top of that, youll find out about things like how to apply the relevant laws and ethics. And thats before you get to things like security assurance, and how to apply cyber security concepts to IT infrastructure. Its a job that involves a lot of teamwork; everyone relies on and helps each other to do the best job possible for our business customers. Youll have a lot going on at once and can be managing lots of complex workloads and competing priorities. But well work with you to make sure you can manage it. And well also contribute to your ongoing development as well, by helping you study for your ITIL V4 certification, in addition to your apprenticeship. This job is available in Business part of BT. *About the apprenticeship youll study for * As a Cyber Security Managed Services Apprentice, youll study for a Level 4 apprenticeship called Cyber Security and Networking Infrastructure. The course runs for 2 and a half years and youll spend 20% of your weekly working hours learning and studying. *Entry Requirements * Youll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) two A-Levels with a minimum of C grades. Youll also need a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted. All applicants will need a full UK Right to Work for the duration (2.5 years) of their scheme or they will not be able to apply. Please note, due to the nature of the work we do, some of these roles may require security clearance. Dont worry, the Early Careers recruitment team will explain this to you.
