Why this job matters
The role of the Zero Trust Engineering Specialist is to ensure the smooth operation and optimization of Zscaler\βs cloud-native security platform. You will be part of the engineering team responsible for the deployment and management of Zscaler across the business.

This role is hybrid (3 days in office) and can be based in one of the following offices: Birmingham, Manchester, Ipswich (Ipswich only applicable to existing BT employees)
What you\βll be doing
- Owns, and creates where required, E2E Zscaler HLDs for all programme delivery contexts, capabilities, and components.
- Oversees the creation of Low Level integration/designs from the contracted delivery units from a BT Zscaler point of view
- Works alongside the Lead Solution Architect to ensure all functional and non-functional contexts & requirements are being addressed.
- Works alongside the Enterprise Architect to ensure business strategy, architectural roadmap, scalability, and security are being delivered.
- Provides E2E Cross-Domain Design Reviews and Solution Assurance (with the Lead Solution Architect)
- Ensuring decisions made are aligned to programme design principles, architectural patterns and guardrails.
- Ensuring technical decisions take account of any programme budget, business priorities, time constraints and benefits/success measures outlined the Business Case/Scoping Documents agreed.
- Ensure BT wider governance channels have been followed
- Cascading design information as appropriate and working alongside other design specialists for integration
Skills Required for the Role
- Experience in managing/maintaining a Zscaler environment
- Experience rolling out Zscaler across an organisation
- Understanding of current Cyber Security threats to our industry & motivation to protect BT from malicious adversaries.
- Embedding transformational change and benefits management: able to analyse, plan and implement enduring change affecting systems, processes and particularly people.
- Able to identify, plan, realise and measure policy benefits.
- Stakeholder management: able to work across the organisation to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels in support of project objectives.
- Self starter: able to work out what needs to be done in a complex situation and set a direction for self
- Creative thinker: able to think around a problem and come up with creative solutions
