Scope
As a Senior Product Designer for our design system, Loop, you’ll shape a platform that supports over 100 designers across EE. You’ll evolve design standards, ensure consistency and quality at scale, and own design quality across foundations, components, and patterns. You’ll also grow design capability by identifying skill gaps, mentoring peers, and supporting training initiatives with your design manager.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Creating highly scalable components and pattern libraries in Figma and cascading best practices to the team.
- Monitoring how the design community adopts our system and contributing through analytics and surveys.
- Scaling the design system to support multiple brands (EE, Plusnet and BT).
- Building meaningful internal relationships and promoting a user-centered way of working.
- Advocating for customer needs and ensuring designs solve real customer problems.
- Implementing continuous improvement to design team processes for consistent quality and collaboration across squads.
- Championing innovation and developing the team’s knowledge of emerging trends in customer experience.
- Mentoring other product designers and acting as a technical resource.
Experience/Qualifications
- Extensive experience building scalable components and patterns that futureproof designs.
- Ability to prioritise competing requests, assess needs, and make tough decisions (including pushing back on stakeholders).
- Experience coordinating design groups in workshops to refine components and patterns.
- Proven ability to build design library content compliant with WCAG standards, with support from an in-house accessibility team.
- Data-informed approach to understanding usage and performance metrics to guide changes.
- Experience in a design system team or contributing to design libraries; experience with white-label or multi-brand projects.
- Proficient in Figma, including leveraging Variants for scalable components.
- Experience mentoring or managing design peers and supporting career development.
- Experience in large organizations with complex design environments is beneficial.
