The Emergency Services Network (ESN) is a huge strategic priority for BT and our commitment to do the best for our customer and our country. ESN will be one of the most advanced Emergency Services Networks in the world. BT is proud to be the official supplier providing mission critical and trusted communications for Britain’s Emergency Services. The ESN will replace the existing Airwave network and build upon EE’s existing 4G network to provide essential new voice, data services, and critical communications services to 300,000 members of frontline emergency service users.

The ESN Product Development Manager is accountable for the delivery of specific ESN Products underpinning the commercial requirements of the programme. This role is responsible for ensuring that the products and services in your portfolio are fit-for-customer and acceptable for User Organisations to safely transition onto. You will be accountable for the future evolution of products and services, understanding the market and competitor solutions.

The successful candidate will be cleared to BPSS (or equivalent) as a minimum. You may even be required to undergo National Security Vetting (e.g. CTC, SC or NPPV).

What you’ll be doing

• Accountable for day-to-day product development, working with the EE technical and service teams, the Home Office and partners to define, design and deliver specific ESN products
• Own Product strategy/roadmap and business case including defining and owning targets for the business case including revenue, adoption and usage
• Leads Idea / Concept stage to define scope, priority and objectives, benefits, business case for the product
• Accountable for management & maintenance of ESN products and services in-life to deliver an outstanding customer experience
• Manage product portfolio, building a balanced portfolio of product and services in line with strategic and marketing objectives

What we would like to see on your CV

• Technical understanding of the network to build customer confidence and drive customer adoption of ESN services
• Good understanding of commercial business case development
• Ability to provide excellent stakeholder management to internal and external stakeholders, up to Director / MD level
• Proven understanding of developing, owning and delivering product and customer lifecycle, including product development, evolution and commercial business case development
• Ability to operate in a complex multi-party ecosystem and in a matrix organisation
• Any previous experience of working on complex Government/Emergency Services programmes would be advantageous
