Why this job matters

The People & Culture Partner for the Consumer Strategy & Transformation team and Consumer P&C team plays a pivotal role in enabling BT Consumer’s transformation agenda while providing leadership and oversight for the Consumer P&C function. This highly strategic, enterprise-facing role operates at the intersection of business strategy, operating model evolution, people delivery, and Consumer P&C leadership.

As part of the wider P&C Consumer Corporate Functions team, the role ensures both the Consumer organisation and the P&C function are structured, aligned, and equipped to deliver transformation at pace and with impact. The role spans three core areas of accountability, requiring strong business intimacy, organisational effectiveness expertise, and disciplined programme delivery.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develops a deep understanding of the business unit’s strategy, goals, and challenges, providing impactful HR solutions and data-driven insights to influence business decisions.
  • Builds strong relationships across all levels, acting as a trusted advisor to translate business objectives into actionable HR initiatives.
  • Acts as a consultant and coach to managers, providing guidance on HR policies, processes, and compliance.
  • Partners with managers and People & HR Services to manage absence, analyse trends, and implement proactive strategies to support well-being and minimise disruption.
  • Supports talent initiatives aligned with business objectives, collaborating with CoEs and managers to attract, develop, and retain a high-performing, diverse workforce.
  • Contributes to organisational effectiveness initiatives, ensuring new structures, roles, and processes meet business needs.
  • Maintains HR expertise, staying abreast of industry trends, embracing technology to streamline processes, and enhance the employee experience.
  • Uses data and analytics to evaluate HR programmes, inform decision-making, and present actionable recommendations to business leaders.
  • Participates in cross-functional teams, contributing HR expertise to projects beyond the primary business unit to deliver enterprise-wide value.

  • Coaches colleagues and supports talent development to build capability and performance.
  • Analyses insights to inform priorities, trade-offs, and HR strategies.
  • Aligns HR initiatives to strategy, drives performance, and plans for future workforce needs.
