Why this job matters
In this role, you will support national defenses by working closely with customers to enhance communication. You’ll monitor and support TDM/IP services at the Primary Network Control Centre, managing data devices, secure networks, and email services. As part of a small, skilled team, you’ll ensure customer service delivery on secure and non-secure contracts, using initiative to resolve issues proactively.
What you’ll be doing
- Provide 2nd and 3rd line support for secure voice services, including provisioning, fault diagnosis, and problem management.
- Proactively address complex issues on customer voice networks and ensure timely incident resolution.
- Follow and maintain operational strategies to ensure uptime, performance, and security within budget constraints.
- Monitor systems and manage incidents to respond promptly to requests and changes.
- Ensure functionality and security routines meet contractual obligations.
Skills You’ll Need
- Proficient in TDM technologies (ISDX, Meridian, Hi-Path 3000) and IP technologies (SIP, IP Telephony, SIP Trunks).
- Basic knowledge of Windows Servers and Openscape Unify systems (4K, Business X5, X8).
- Understanding of Voice Gateway and Ribbon technologies.
- Familiar with ITIL fundamentals and autonomous work approach.
- Competent in using various IT systems and tools (e.g., Wireshark).
The work is shift-pattern based with 1 FULL week off every 5 weeks.
