What you’ll be doing:

  • Provide technical architectural support on agreed roadmap initiatives, acting as the technical vendor expert where appropriate to guide solution design and delivery.
  • Collaborate with technical architecture colleagues to test ideas, share knowledge, and develop layered security solutions that meet complex customer requirements.
  • Evaluate and compare security solutions clearly and objectively, enabling well-informed decisions on future product launches and portfolio enhancements.
  • Work closely with propositions and portfolio teams to gain deep insight into customer needs across SME and public sector segments, ensuring solutions align with market trends and business priorities.
  • Serve as the technical knowledge lead for designated focus areas, supporting product managers with architectural insight and technical feasibility assessments.
  • Build and maintain infrastructure systems within the Security Customer Experience Centre to showcase BT’s security capabilities and enhance customer engagement.

Experience needed to be successful in the role:

  • Experience with technical architecture and solution design, having delivered complex security solutions aligned to business requirements.
  • Solid security technology expertise, including PoCs/PoVs, vendor solution evaluation, SSE/SD-WAN technologies, and SaaS API integration.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence decisions, present solutions, and work effectively across teams.
  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively, investigating and developing solutions with minimal guidance in a product-focused environment.
  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP/CISSM (or working towards).
