BT's property estate is varied and geographically dispersed, and brings with it a number of risks and challenges. This role is pivotal in ensuring that we manage these risks effectively, not only to meet our legal and moral obligations, but to also support our ambition to continually improve our performance.
This role will help in the implementation of the Property & Facilities Services (P&FS) risk, audit, controls, governance and process management frameworks. The role will be based in Manchester following a hybrid working pattern of three days a week in office and two days a week remote.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct regular risk reviews ensuring robust and adequate mitigating actions
- Monitor the status of all P&FS owned audit actions and take appropriate steps to ensure that any weaknesses or failings are escalated in a timely manner to the P&FS Leadership Team (LT)
- Risk management oversight of outsourced third parties across operations, projects, technology systems etc.
- Conduct regular key control dip tests to ensure P&FS controls are operating effectively
- Provide reports and information to meet LT requirements including the quarterly risk and assurance dashboard and quarterly Global Business Services (GBS) risk review slides
- Ensure that all P&FS owned processes and procedures are documented in a consistent manner in conjunction with the document control standard
- Supporting the governance activities of key P&FS investment committees
- Manage and support ISO matters impacting P&FS
- Act as a focal point with the Group Internal Audit for audit-related matters
- Manage and monitor agreed actions from risk reviews, audits and controls assessments
You’ll have the following skills and experience
- Worked in a risk and assurance role within a multi-site operation
- Provided thought leadership around risk management, helping to drive and embed a positive risk management culture
- Sound experience in developing and implementing risk management strategies
- Proven experience of leading 1st line assurance audits within complex operations
- A dynamic and inspirational person, capable of communicating with and influencing senior level management
- Developed a network of strong working relationships you can call on to assist with your role
- You will be able to analyse data quickly and efficiently, paying attention to detail
- Data analytics and automation tools, such as Power BI, to support reporting and process efficiency
