What you’ll be doing - your accountabilities
- Responsible for translating the BT International Business Strategy into a local People Strategy and driving the execution of that strategy across all countries.
- Ensuring that all local legislative and cultural requirements are met whilst driving a global consistency with the strategy.
- Leadership, governance and decision making on HR policies within countries and ensuring alignment with BT policies.
- Leadership and development of a global team of Country HRBPs that span multiple countries as well as driving capability building and career development within these countries.
- Defining and executing the BT International ER Strategy and ensuring effective partnering with the relevant Unions and Works Councils to mitigate risk.
- Owning Country level HR Governance frameworks including compliance monitoring and responsible for managing/mitigating people risks within each country that we operate in.
- Working in conjunction with Finance to ensure that the HR budgets are managed effectively.
- Acting as an escalation point for high-risk or sensitive employee issues.
Experience you would be expected to have
- Proven track record in senior HR leadership across multiple geographies, ideally in a multi-national organisation.
- Strong knowledge of international employment legislation, compliance and HR Governance.
- Experience of managing employee relations with Unions and Works Councils particularly in UK and Western Europe.
- Experience of leading people transformation and change in a complex matrixed organisation.
- Proven track record of leading diverse teams and senior stakeholder management across cultures and time zones.
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and problem solving abilities.
