This role is hybrid (3 days in the office) & can be based in one of the following offices: Birmingham, London, Bristol, Manchester, Belfast.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deployment Management: Work with project & engineering teams to co-ordinate and manage the phased rollout across all user groups.
  • Endpoint & Application Troubleshooting & Remediation: Utilise own extensive enterprise application (development) experience to respond to, identify & troubleshoot issues with enterprise applications.
  • Solution Engineering: Work with BT EAs and SAs and other BT stakeholders to propose and implement workarounds or solutions for legacy or incompatible applications.
  • Operational Engineering: Act as the Escalation Point for deployment-related technical issues. Support the team to drive the resolution of user-impacting incidents.
  • Documentation and Knowledge Transfer: Maintain clear documentation of deployment progress, application findings, and solutions. Help train and guide operational support teams with persistent issues.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify any recurring issues, and propose process or technical improvements to optimise performance and user experience.
  • Security Architecture Infrastructure (Network & Hosting Platforms) Design: Act as the partner taking business requirements back into Security architecture for consideration in their roadmaps.
  • Collaboration and Partnership: Act as a business partner to various units, providing guidance and a point of contact for our security Infrastructure. Collaborate with IT and engineering teams to ensure the implementation of security solutions is enacted. Work with the business to understand any constraints and blockers (Resource, Finance etc.) and act as the conduit to work these challenges through.
  • Risk Management: Collaborate with the business to assist with documentation then share with Security Enterprise Architects security risks associated with networks and hosting platforms. Monitor and report on progress against deliveries that deliver the capabilities that support “Protection of BT”. Monitor and report on progress against deliveries that address security incidents and vulnerabilities.
  • Training and Awareness: Conduct training and awareness events for TS (and more widely) where appropriate to ensure familiarity of what our Networks and hosting platforms are. Ensure there is an understanding of the benefits of engaging early with enterprise architecture when teams want to make changes to network and hosting platform security.
  • Presentations and Communication: Collate & create input & prepare high-quality presentations for executive meetings. Communicate complex technical information in a clear and concise manner. Support management and seniors with ad-hoc analysis and reporting.

Skills & Experience Required For The Role

  • Solid understanding of the Network and Hosting platforms environments.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM) are a plus.
  • Experience in security architecture, particularly in networks and hosting platforms, will be beneficial.
  • Strong understanding of network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
