BT Group is seeking an Employment Lawyer with 2-5 years of experience to join their in-house legal team in Birmingham. The successful candidate will have experience in employment law and be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders up to C-suite level.
The role involves providing expert legal advice on employment law matters, managing a caseload, and supporting senior lawyers with legal research and project work. The ideal candidate will have experience working in a complex or regulated organization, managing individual legal matters, and advising on contentious and non-contentious employment issues.
The candidate will also have excellent drafting skills, strong oral communication skills, and the ability to engage with internal stakeholders and external counsel. They will be a team player, commercially aware, and have a growth mindset.

Responsibilities:
- Act as a key point of contact for employment law matters, providing expert legal advice to internal stakeholders.
- Advise on a wide range of employment and benefits issues, both contentious and non-contentious.
- Manage a caseload and support senior lawyers with legal research and project work.
- Monitor and interpret changes in employment law and government policy, supporting stakeholder education across the business.
- Build strong relationships across BT’s Legal, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance, and CoSec teams.
Requirements:
- PQE qualified with 0-3 years of commercial experience.
- Experience of employment law and ability to communicate with stakeholders up to C-suite level.
- Excellent drafting skills and strong oral communication skills.
- Team player, commercially aware, and growth mindset.
