And we use the power of technology to help solve big challenges, like climate change and cyber security.

From day one, you’ll have a voice at BT Group. You’ll get stuck in to tough challenges, pitching ideas and making things happen. This is your chance to make a real difference to the world. Grab it.

Management is key in a business like ours, and if we didn’t have commercially savvy people to help keep our business initiatives on track, we’d never be able to get anywhere! If you are looking for a role that puts you in the driving seat of your career and gives you an insight into multiple different areas of an international business, then look no further.

We think the best way for you to learn how a business works is to gain experience in various parts of it. Our Business Explorer apprenticeship scheme is focused on building key skills for the future transformation of BT to better support our customers and build your future career within our organisation. During this scheme, you’ll rotate around our business and complete five eight-month rotations across the following key areas:

  • Transformation - working in an agile environment you could be doing roles such as project management, customer experience design, change roles or scrum master.
  • Customer - working in support or our service or sales teams to build your customer awareness and how critical they are to our business.
  • Commercial - working in commercial or finance teams to ensure you understand how a company works and how to create value.

Alongside your rotations you will partake in a learning plan focussed on behaviours and technical skills.

You’ll learn how to take responsibility for projects, communications, operations, and services, all to help deliver long-term success for our clients. Our clients are all businesses, from small companies to FTSE 100 giants; and you’ll need to make sure that whatever project you’re working on has their best interests at heart. It’s not just clients you’ll need to work with, we’re a big business so you’ll need to partner with numerous other stakeholders too.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop a wide range of skills including decision making, managing stakeholders, team working and lots more beyond that. We’ll also teach you how to communicate clearly with others so you can lead change and develop relationships easily and effectively. You’ll learn this as part of your studies as well from our amazing colleagues, who’ll be there to support you every step of the way.

We expect you to demonstrate that you are proactive, can take initiative and are focused on continuing to grow and develop. We believe that collaboration is key to success, and you will typically be in our amazing offices three days a week.

As a Chartered Management Degree Apprentice, you’ll study for a University Degree in Professional Management, actively applying what you learn at university to your role within BT. Upon successful completion of your apprenticeship, you’ll receive a BSc degree from one of our University Partners, which will be accredited with the Chartered Manager Institute - a recognised body of management and leadership. The degree course runs for three years and is a work-based learning degree. You’ll spend a minimum of 20% of your time learning and studying. After you have successfully completed your apprenticeship qualification and scheme, we’ll support you in securing a role that is best aligned to your strengths and interests.

Entry Requirements You’ll need to achieve (or be on course to achieve) three A-Levels with a minimum of BCC grades. You’ll also need a minimum of five GCSEs at grades 4-9 (C or above) including English and Maths. Equivalent qualifications are accepted.

Apprentice Visa Rules - All applicants will need a full UK Right to Work for the duration (3 years) of their scheme or you will not be able to apply. Internal candidates will have to take on Terms & Conditions of the Apprentice role including salary and benefits.
