The predicted salary is between 50000 - 60000 £ per year.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance. An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

About the role

The Crypto Clerk is a key operational role within Global Security Services, supporting the secure management of cryptographic assets and access controls across the security estate. The role underpins BT’s ability to operate safely and securely, protecting customers and colleagues by ensuring cryptographic materials, equipment and processes are managed accurately, compliantly and consistently. Working closely with the Crypto Custodian, Security Incident teams and site stakeholders, the Crypto Clerk contributes to operational resilience, incident response and regulatory compliance, aligned to BT’s behaviours. This job role is based in London. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Monday‑Friday 37.5 hours. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.

What you’ll be doing

  • Support the protection of BT customers, services and networks by ensuring cryptographic assets are managed securely and in line with policy.
  • Maintain accurate, auditable records to support service continuity and regulatory assurance.
  • Identify opportunities to improve crypto handling, asset tracking and administrative processes.
  • Raise risks, gaps or inefficiencies and contribute to continuous improvement within security operations.
  • Take ownership of day‑to‑day crypto administration tasks, ensuring work is delivered accurately and on time.
