Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance. An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. About the role
We’re seeking an enthusiastic engineer with a passion for cloud technologies, automation, and continuous improvement. You’ll be comfortable learning new technologies, working collaboratively with others, and contributing to the delivery of secure, scalable, and reliable cloud platforms. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills while working on modern cloud and network infrastructure that supports critical business services. This job role can be based near Cheltenham, Manchester, Ipswich or Sheffield. Due to security requirements, this role requires you to be located on site during your working hours. Mon‑Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.
What you’ll be doing
- Support the delivery of cloud automation capabilities across infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), self‑service platforms, auto‑scaling, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Assist in implementing Infrastructure as Code and Policy as Code solutions in accordance with defined architectural standards and governance requirements.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams, project stakeholders, and suppliers to deliver secure, reliable, and high‑quality cloud solutions, whilst providing technical support and guidance to engineers across the wider team.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, capacity, and health, proactively identifying and resolving issues using DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering practices.
- Contribute to troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and continuous service improvement activities, whilst maintaining platform security, compliance, and operational resilience through adherence to engineering standards and best practices.
- Participate in the ongoing development and optimisation of cloud platforms and automation tooling.
