Mechanical Shift Fitter – BSW Timber
BSW Timber is looking for a mechanical shift fitter to join our maintenance team in Dalbeattie (DG5 4PL) and work on a 24/7 shift pattern. You will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing breakdowns, as well as undertaking routine mechanical maintenance across a range of plant and machinery.
Responsibilities
- Install machine parts such as valves, pumps and motors.
- Carry out planned maintenance checks, identify faults and apply solutions.
- Respond to emergency breakdowns on production lines.
Qualifications
- Background in mechanical engineering, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Good understanding of computer‑based systems and software.
- High organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Problem‑solving ability and capacity to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
