Supply Chain Manager – Forestry & Timber Products

Role Overview:
The Supply Chain Manager will play a pivotal role in managing end-to-end supply chain operations, from raw material sourcing to final product distribution. This role requires expertise in supply chain management, a passion for forestry products, strong supplier relationships, and a commitment to sustainability and cost-effectiveness.
Location: Carlisle with UK-wide travel

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement supply chain strategies to optimize procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
- Estimate throughput from sawmills and coordinate with the procurement department to decide which plots of trees have priority.
- Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring compliance with sustainability standards and regulations.
- Monitor and improve supply chain performance, reducing costs and enhancing efficiency.
- Work closely with the central transport team to coordinate transportation and warehousing to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Oversee compliance with industry regulations, including environmental and trade policies.
- Analyse market trends and supply chain risks, developing mitigation strategies.
- Lead and mentor a team to drive operational excellence.

- Proven experience in supply chain management.
- Enthusiastic about working in the forestry, timber, or related industries.
- Strong knowledge of sustainable sourcing practices and industry regulations.
