Working on a shift basis, you’ll be a key member of our busy maintenance team, directly responsible for providing a prompt and responsive breakdown fault diagnosis and repair service & undertaking routine maintenance, across a range of plant and machinery.
As well as maintaining a hands-on approach to the day to day engineering tasks Specifically, some responsibilities of an engineering Leading Hand include:
- Directing the day-to-day activities of the maintenance team.
- Take an active role in contractor management and small projects to improve site performance.
- Coordinate labour, equipment and materials.
- Play a key role in the continuous development of team members and apprentices in line with training plans and identify skill gaps.
- Monitor workmanship and perform quality control checks.
- Uphold rigorous Health & Safety standards and ensure teams are working safely, in a clean and hazard free environment, and enforcing the correct use of PPE.
- Conduct safety inspections.
About you
We are seeking a motivated forward thinker who can be proactive in identifying areas of improvement.
Alongside your solid background in engineering, preferably gained within a manufacturing environment, you are confident in working alone or alongside a team.
You’ll be technically minded and hold your work to a high level.
In addition, you’ll have
