A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an HGV Driver to join our Manufacturing team at our Upwood site. This role involves the transportation of wooden products to customer sites, delivering orders first time, on time and ensuring high standards of customer service and legal compliance is always maintained. You will be working as part of a dynamic team and support team activities in a fast-paced environment.
You will be responsible for completing a Daily Vehicle Check to ensure the vehicle is road worthy and in line with the ‘Daily Vehicle Check’ procedure and report any defects immediately to your Manager. All delivery notes and the drivers manifest are to be checked and you will ensure the vehicle is not overloaded by weight or capacity and that any concerns are reported directly to the office team. You must drive in a responsible manner, always complying with all current UK Road Transport regulations.
As a team member, you may be asked to assist in the induction process and training of any new drivers, ensuring that a safe system of work is always maintained by always adhering to our Health and Safety Procedures and Policies. This includes wearing your Personal Protective Equipment when stipulated.
As a HGV Driver, you will hold a current Class 2 Licence and Drivers CPC, have a minimum of 2 years’ experience, work effectively with others, have excellent time keeping and attendance record and demonstrate a high level of Health and Safety awareness. A can-do attitude and excellent attention to detail are key to success.
