Weighbridge Operator
- Based Fort William, PH33 7AP
- Rotating Shifts, 6am-2pm/1pm-9pm (42.5hours p/w)
- £12.76-£14.25 depending on shifts & Experience
Based at our Fort William sawmill, and reporting to our Primary Production Manager, you’ll play an important role in site security and traffic management and will liaise with drivers and site management team to ensure that the correct loads are received from supply contracts on time
Specifically, some responsibilities of a Log Yard Operator include:
- Collating and reporting data pertaining to the receipt and despatch of raw materials, such as logs, and finished goods, coming on and off the Dalbeattie site.
- Checking and confirming FSC status of raw materials being delivered to site, ensuring that sustainability standards are maintained.
- Directing hauliers to follow the correct traffic routes around the site and liaising with teams across the site to ensure smooth traffic management.
- Ensuring any and all associated paperwork is processed accurately.
About you:
We’re seeking a highly attentive and organised individual, with prior experience operating weighbridge(s), or a fast-paced administration role. In addition, you’ll have:
- Excellent IT Skills, across Microsoft packages.
- A high-level of communication skills, allowing you to effectively interact with drivers, suppliers, managers, and staff at all levels.
- Imperial and metric understanding.
- High degree of numeracy and literacy skills.
- A committed, motivated and enthusiastic approach.
