  • Log Yard Operator, Wheeled Loader and Bucket Driver
  • Based Fort William, PH33 7AP
  • Rotating Shifts, 6am-3pm/3pm-1am (42.5hours p/w)
  • £12.76-£14.25 depending on shifts & Experience

Based at our Fort William sawmill, you will be specifically driving a Wheeled Loader with Bucket, you will be working within a team and individually.

Specifically, some responsibilities of a Log Yard Operator include

  • Operating a wheeled loader with a Bucket.
  • Loading Wood chip, bark and sawdust.
  • Movement of logs using 360 material handler and wheeled loader.
  • Unloading of log wagons.
  • Operation of weighbridge: booking in/out sawn goods, logs and coproducts as well as controlling incoming site traffic movements.

About you

We are looking for a motivated individual who is production focussed and has the ability to meet deadlines. In addition, you’ll have;

  • Experience using heavy mobile plant would be preferred but is not essential as full training can be provided.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Be flexible and work well as part of a small team.
  • A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Appreciation of quality and Health & Safety.
  • Full Drivers Licence.
