Working on a shift basis, you will be a key member of our busy central logistics team directly responsible for providing fast and efficient transport solutions for the whole BSW Group.

Based at BSW Carlisle, you will be responsible for planning the fast and efficient transport solutions for BSW groups nationwide deliveries.

Specifically, the role of Transport Co-ordinator will

  • Efficiently plan and allocate daily multi-site collections and deliveries ensuring they are successfully completed.
  • Monitor load status and communicate through BSW network to ensure required transport adheres to customer deadlines.
  • React efficiently to stock readiness and work closely with the customer service team to ensure special requests and orders are adhered to.
  • Notify and communicate bookings and late deliveries.
  • Retrieving customer PODs when required.
  • Report, process and follow up any transport related complaints.
  • Build close professional relationships with customers, hauliers, and suppliers.
  • Analyse and interpret delivery data to present KPI reports both for internal and external use.
  • Monitor and review daily transport costs for each site and ensuring cost effective planning.
  • Ensure maximum utilisation for each load BSW sites.
  • Identify and develop ideas and processes to aid the future delivery of BSW product.

About you

Already an experienced transport or logistics planner, or perhaps a transport planning administrator, looking to take the next step in your career.

You will be driven, self-motivated and determined to complete each task to the best of your ability, operating a ‘right first time’ approach always seeking the most efficient plans for each movement.

In addition, you’ll have

  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Good computer skills across all Microsoft products and with experience of using transport planning tools.
  • Strong analytical ability when reviewing delivery data.
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a busy environment.
  • A high level of organisational skills, attention to detail and administrative experience.
  • A flexible, customer focused attitude.
  • Experience of Paragon Planning & routing tool would be advantageous but not essential.
  • An understanding of drivers working time directives would be advantageous but not essential.
