Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Central London (3 days office, 2 days home) Salary: Up to £70,000 depending on experience Type: Permanent, full-time Travel: Approximately once per month to project sites across Europe
The Opportunity
Our client is an established building services design consultancy based in Central London. Operating as a deliberately tight team, they have built a reputation for delivering quality over volume.
The mechanical desk is growing carefully, with a focus on hiring senior engineers who can run their own projects, lead client relationships, and shape the direction of the practice as it scales.
This is a senior-level hire for a mechanical engineer who has outgrown the cog-in-a-machine feel of a larger consultancy and wants visible impact on the design, the clients, and the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design on live projects from concept through to completion across all RIBA stages
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients on assigned projects, building and maintaining long-term relationships
- Attend client meetings, present mechanical design solutions, and represent the consultancy externally with confidence and authority
