One of our good clients in Surrey is now expanding the team and looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their MEP department. They are working on an exciting range of projects across the Built Environment; with a current and forward workload in Healthcare, Further Education, Commercial and Residential projects. We are continually looking for the best talent to join our team as we continue to secure repeat business across all sectors.
Skills:
- As an experienced Building Services Engineer, you will be able to demonstrate a portfolio of completed projects.
- You will have excellent technical knowledge of Mechanical Building Services Engineering and have worked in all stages of the design process.
- You will be able to lead your own projects of various sizes and deliver a high-quality design on time and to meet our client expectations.
- You will also be responsible for mentoring junior engineers and contributing to their development.
- You will have experience in client facing activities including site and design team meetings.
- Working with the latest software packages, you will also be competent in AutoCAD and have some experience of REVIT.
- You will have a determination to succeed, with at least 4 years post qualification experience in Building Services, have excellent communication and IT skills, can bring creative flair to projects and inspire our clients.
Job responsibilities:
- Ensuring an understanding of project briefs.
- Design and specification of all mechanical Building Services systems.
- Carry out the production of detailed calculations using industry standard software tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Hevacomp, IES, etc.
- Representing the organisation at meetings with clients and contractors.
- Site surveys, inspections and monitoring of site works.
- Report and technical note writing.
- Maintaining complete records and archives to company standards.
- Adherence to all quality, environmental and governance processes.
What you'll need to succeed:
- Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
- At least 5 years of experience in mechanical Building Services projects.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and building codes.
- Experience working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment is essential.
- Have a detailed knowledge of appropriate technical standards.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
