This is a senior BIM / digital engineering leadership role focused on MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Public Health) design coordination and digital delivery across multiple projects. You would be responsible for making sure building services models are coordinated, clash-free, standards-compliant, and data-rich, while also helping improve how the company delivers BIM digitally.
Core purpose of the role:
- Lead digital delivery of MEP models across projects
- Ensure designs are coordinated, buildable, and information-rich
- Improve BIM standards and digital workflows across the business
- Support and mentor junior staff
- Act as a key coordination link between engineers, architects, contractors, and clients
Key responsibilities:
- Leadership & coordination:
- Lead BIM coordination across multiple projects
- Manage workload and resources within project teams
- Mentor junior engineers/technicians
- Drive BIM best practice and standards adoption
- Produce and coordinate federated MEP models (mainly in Revit MEP)
- Run clash detection and resolve design coordination issues (e.g. in Navisworks Manage)
- Ensure compliance with ISO 19650, BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), and client requirements
- Manage Common Data Environments (e.g. Autodesk Construction Cloud / BIM 360)
- Ensure delivery of structured asset data (e.g. COBie)
- Support design coordination meetings and workshops
Technical focus:
You would be expected to be strong in:
- BIM standards (especially ISO 19650)
- Revit MEP, Navisworks, AutoCAD
- Clash detection and model coordination
- Information management and CDE workflows
- MEP building services coordination principles
- Asset data / COBie handover requirements
- Some exposure to automation tools like Dynamo (nice to have)
Experience required:
- 5-8 years in BIM / MEP digital engineering
- Proven experience delivering coordinated UK building services projects
- Strong communication and stakeholder management
- Ability to lead multidisciplinary coordination
Nice-to-haves:
- Experience with BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), EIRs, MIDPs/TIDPs
- Digital twins, DfMA, offsite construction
