An established building services consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Design Engineer to join its Edinburgh office. The role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects across the UK, supporting senior engineers in the design and delivery of high-quality electrical building services solutions.
You will contribute to electrical design from concept through to construction, working collaboratively with mechanical engineers, architects, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the design and development of electrical building services systems, including:
- Power distribution
- Lighting and lighting controls
- Emergency lighting
- Small power and data systems
- Fire alarm and life safety systems
- Degree (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
- Typically 2-5 years experience in electrical building services design
- Working knowledge of UK building services standards and regulations
- Experience using industry software such as:
- AutoCAD / Revit
- Electrical calculation tools (e.g. Amtech, Dialux, Relux or similar)
- Progress toward or interest in Chartered Engineer (CEng or IEng) status
- Experience across a range of sectors (commercial, residential, education, healthcare, etc.)
- Familiarity with sustainable design and low-carbon technologies
