BIM Coordinator is responsible for managing and coordinating Building Information Modelling processes across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines. The role ensures accurate model integration, clash detection, and compliance with project BIM standards, supporting efficient design delivery and construction coordination.
- Coordinate and manage MEP BIM models across multiple disciplines.
- Ensure all models comply with project BIM Execution Plans (BEP), standards, and client requirements.
- Run clash detection using software such as Navisworks and resolve conflicts with design teams.
- Facilitate coordination meetings with internal teams, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Maintain model integrity, including naming conventions, data structure, and version control.
- Integrate MEP models with architectural and structural models.
- Support the production of 2D drawings and 3D visualisations from BIM models.
- Monitor model progress against project timelines and report issues to the BIM Manager.
- Provide technical guidance and support to MEP designers and engineers.
- Ensure models are suitable for downstream uses (e.g., fabrication, installation, and asset management).
- Assist in developing and enforcing BIM standards, workflows, and best practices.
