My client is a well-established engineering consultancy who is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its building services team.

The Role

  • You will be responsible for delivering mechanical building services design across a range of projects.
  • The company is looking for someone who can be trusted with projects, manage their workload, and drive designs forward with minimal supervision.
  • Mechanical design of building services systems including HVAC, heating, cooling, ventilation, and domestic water services.
  • Producing calculations, specifications, reports, and technical drawings.
  • Managing and delivering projects or project packages from concept through to completion.
  • Liaising with clients, architects, and other design team members.
  • Attending design meetings and site visits where required.
  • Ensuring designs comply with relevant standards, regulations, and best practice.
  • Coordinating with electrical and other disciplines to ensure integrated design delivery.

Requirements

  • Experience in mechanical building services design.
  • Ability to run projects or work packages independently.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building services design principles.
  • Experience with industry software such as AutoCAD, Revit, IES, Hevacomp, or similar.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
