They provide innovative, compliant, and practical fire engineering solutions across a range of diverse projects. Key Responsibilities:
- Develop fire engineering strategies in accordance with BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B.
- Design and assess active fire protection systems such as sprinklers, water mist, and gaseous suppression.
- Conduct fire risk assessments and offer expert fire safety advice.
- Assist with Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) modelling and fire simulations as needed.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, and regulatory bodies to ensure project compliance.
- Prepare technical reports, fire safety statements, and evacuation strategies.
- Support senior engineers in project execution and mentor junior team members.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (BEng/MEng/MSc).
- 2-5 years of experience in fire engineering consultancy or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of fire safety regulations such as BS 9999, BS 7974, and Approved Document B.
- Experience with fire suppression systems (sprinklers, water mist, gaseous systems).
- Familiarity with AutoSprink, PyroSim, FDS, CFAST is advantageous (but not essential).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team setting.
