About the Role
We're looking for an ambitious Graduate Structural Engineer to join our structural and civil engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to build on your academic knowledge while developing your analytical, design and technical drawing skills on real-world projects. You'll work closely with experienced engineers and receive mentoring from senior staff, while gradually taking ownership of your own work. From concept design through to construction, you'll gain exposure to all stages of project delivery.
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the development of structural engineering designs across a range of projects
- Assisting with calculations, load assessments and design analysis under supervision
- Producing sketches, diagrams and drawings to communicate engineering concepts
- Contributing to reports, design documentation and technical outputs
- Attending meetings with clients and multidisciplinary design teams
- Collaborating with other disciplines to coordinate project designs
- Assisting with site visits during construction phases
- Identifying and helping mitigate risks in design and construction
- Ensuring compliance with quality assurance, environmental and health & safety standards
What We're Looking For
- A degree (BEng/MEng) in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Graduate membership with ICE or IStructE (or working towards it)
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- A proactive approach and willingness to learn
- Ability to work independently and contribute to problem-solving
- Right to work in the UK
Desirable (but not essential):
- Relevant placement or internship experience
- Familiarity with design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla, TEDDS, or similar
- Full UK driving licence
