The BIM Manager (MEP) leads the implementation and management of Building Information Modelling processes across mechanical, electrical, and plumbing disciplines. The role ensures coordinated, accurate models, compliance with standards such as ISO 19650, and effective collaboration across project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement BIM Execution Plans (BEP)
- Manage MEP model production, coordination, and clash detection
- Oversee federated models and Common Data Environment (CDE) workflows
- Ensure compliance with BIM standards, LOD requirements, and data quality
- Coordinate with architects, structural teams, and contractors
- Provide technical BIM support to engineers and designers
- Lead BIM meetings and report on progress and risks
- Train and mentor BIM coordinators and technicians
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of MEP/building services systems
- Proficient in Revit (MEP), Navisworks, and BIM 360 / Autodesk Construction Cloud
- Knowledge of ISO 19650, IFC, COBie, and BIM workflows
- Experience managing BIM on complex construction projects (5+ years)
- Strong coordination, leadership, and communication skills
Qualifications
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Building Services Engineering (preferred)
- Professional membership (e.g., CIBSE or IET) desirable
