An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly skilled Podiatrist to step into a key leadership role within a busy, award-winning specialist foot care clinic in the heart of Glasgow.

This is a pivotal position for a clinician who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient outcomes while also supporting and guiding a talented podiatry team.

Working Tuesday to Saturday, this role offers the chance to work in a high-profile private clinical environment with a strong reputation for excellence.

You will take on responsibility for the day-to-day clinical leadership of the podiatry function, working closely with senior management to uphold the very highest standards of care and service.

The Role

As Principal Podiatrist, you will be the most senior clinician within the clinic providing expert clinical care alongside supervisory and leadership support to the wider podiatry team.

Key responsibilities include

  • Delivering a full range of advanced podiatry treatments including biomechanics, cryotherapy, laser nail treatments, low-level laser therapy, taping, nail surgery, foot acupuncture, and foot manipulation and mobilisation.
  • Acting as the first point of escalation for clinical queries, complex treatments, and patient issues in the absence of senior management.
  • Providing mentorship, day‑to‑day guidance, and clinical advice to junior podiatrists and foot health practitioners.
  • Leading on the implementation of new procedures and protocols related to health, safety, hygiene, and clinical standards.
  • Effectively managing escalated patient complaints in line with clinic procedures.
  • Overseeing clinic operations including staffing levels, stock ordering, stock control, and liaison with external partners such as laboratories and referral networks.
  • Delivering and participating in training sessions, identifying development needs, and supporting continuous professional development across the team.
  • Maintaining deep product knowledge and sharing this with staff and patients to ensure consistent advice and client experience.
  • Acting as a brand ambassador, representing the clinic at events and with external bodies as required.

About You

  • To be considered for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
  • HCPC registration with a podiatry degree, membership of the College of Podiatry, or SMAE registration.
  • Proven experience working as a Senior Podiatrist, confidently delivering advanced treatments including laser therapy, acupuncture, and biomechanics.
  • 3 years experience in private clinical practice, with a strong emphasis on exceptional customer service and the patient journey.
  • Experience coordinating a clinical team and managing administrative aspects of a podiatry clinic.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships at all levels.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience preparing and coordinating staff training and supporting the rollout of new clinical procedures and policies.
  • Familiarity with clinic management software.
  • Previous experience managing or formally leading a podiatry team.
