We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary to join a new private specialist clinic opening in Central London, providing dedicated support to the clinical team as the practice launches. This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. In return for your efforts, you will receive a competitive salary of up to £35,000 per annum, 25 days annual leave plus public holidays, a staff travel loan, and a pension scheme. Full training and induction will be provided.
This is a varied role combining medical typing, diary management, patient correspondence and referral coordination, and would suit someone with strong medical terminology knowledge who enjoys working closely with clinicians and patients.
Duties include:
- Providing dedicated secretarial support to consultants, including audio and copy typing of clinic letters, reports and other clinical correspondence
- Managing and coordinating consultants' diaries, clinics and appointment schedules
- Processing referrals and liaising with GPs, hospitals and other healthcare providers regarding patient care and results
- Distributing clinic letters and reports to patients and healthcare providers in a timely manner
- Coordinating and booking investigations, procedures and admissions as instructed by the clinical team
