We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Medical Secretary to join our client's friendly and professional medical practice in Central London, near the Portland Hospital, on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Friday, flexible start times between 8:30am-9:30am with corresponding finish)
Location: Central London, near the Portland Hospital
Start Date: 17th March 2026
Training: Paid training days will take place during weekdays in February 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage consultants' diaries and coordinate clinics
- Schedule and prepare patient appointments
- Liaise with hospitals, clinics, and pathology laboratories
- Carry out accurate audio typing and provide administrative support
- Organise immunotherapy clinics and nurse rotas
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced in a medical secretary or similar administrative role (private practice experience is desirable)
- Highly computer literate with strong problem-solving skills
- Proficient in Practice Manager (DGL) and Microsoft Office
- Skilled in audio typing, organisation, and communication
- Experienced in paediatrics or fertility (advantageous but not essential)
You will be part of a close-knit, high-performing team that delivers exceptional support to our consultants and patients. This role also offers an opportunity for a part-time position at the end of the contract for the right candidate.
