Full-Time, Permanent
Chelsea
£35,000-£40,000 DOE

On behalf of our client - a well-established and highly regarded private dermatology practice in Central London - we're recruiting an experienced Medical Secretary to join their close-knit team on a permanent, full-time basis, with real scope to help shape how the practice runs, not just keep it ticking over.

This is a back-office role. You won't be based on a reception desk - most of your contact with patients is by phone, email or letter, coordinating clinics and managing invoicing behind the scenes rather than face-to-face.

What makes this role different is the scope to grow it. Ownership of the practice changed hands under two years ago, and the new leadership is actively modernising how things are done. Our client is looking for someone who wants to get properly involved - helping implement clear standard operating procedures, improving the billing system, and looking across the practice for other ways things could run better.

What you'll be doing:

  • Booking, planning and managing the consultants' clinic diaries, keeping everything running smoothly across the practice's sites
  • Creating and issuing invoices to private patients and insurers, based on the consultants' instructions
  • Handling patient queries and correspondence - mostly by phone and email, this is not a front-of-house role
  • Getting properly involved in reviewing and improving how the practice operates, including helping implement SOPs and tightening up billing processes
  • Providing day-to-day administrative support to a small team of consultant dermatologists

What we're looking for:

  • Solid experience as xgikmsk a medical secretary, ideally at a senior level
  • Comfortable creating and issuing invoices for private and/or insured patients
  • A confident, professional phone and email manner
  • Genuinely interested in improving processes, not just following them
  • Happy working in a small, busy private practice rather than a large corporate setting
  • Dermatology experience or familiarity with a patient management system is a bonus, not a requirement

The details:

  • £35,000-£40,000 per annum, depending on experienc...
