Join a growing pharmaceutical manufacturer where Quality really matters: BSPG Laboratories Ltd is a growing pharmaceutical manufacturer specialising in the manufacture of Cannabidiol Active Pharmaceutical Ingredient (APIs) and industrial hemp derivatives for the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical sectors. As our business continues to expand, we're looking for a Quality Assurance Officer to join our Quality team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who already has GMP QA experience and wants a role where they'll be trusted to take ownership, contribute ideas and make a genuine impact within a growing business. Unlike larger pharmaceutical companies where responsibilities can become highly specialised, this role offers exposure to the full Quality Assurance lifecycle and the opportunity to broaden your experience across multiple quality systems.

The role: Working closely with Production, QC and the wider business, you'll help ensure our products are manufactured and released to the highest GMP standards. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining and continually improving the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Reviewing and approving batch manufacturing documentation prior to batch release
  • Reviewing and approving SOPs, controlled documents and quality records
  • Managing Deviations, CAPAs, Change Controls, Complaints and OOS investigations
  • Supporting internal and supplier audits
  • Assisting with customer and regulatory audits
  • Supporting supplier qualification and Quality Agreements
  • Supporting product recalls and quality investigations where required
  • Maintaining training records and ensuring GMP compliance throughout the business
  • Working collaboratively with Production, QC and Business Support to continually improve quality standards

For candidates with additional experience, there will also be opportunities to lead quality improvement initiatives, validation activities, mentor colleagues and take ownership of key quality systems.

About You: We're looking for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and maintaining the highest quality standards.

Essential:

  • Strong understanding of GMP and wider GxP requirements.
  • Experience of QMS, CAPAs, Deviations, Change Controls and batch record review.
  • Excellent investigation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to write clear technical reports and quality documentation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise multiple activities.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence working across all departments.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Minimum 3 years' Quality Assurance experience within a GMP pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Internal or supplier audits.
