The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The post-holder will be a member of the ward team who supports the Dept Manager/Charge Nurse in their supervisory role. They are also responsible for carrying out programmes of care, ensuring that practice is in accordance with NMC Code of Professional Conduct and the Scope of Professional Practice. The post-holder will adopt a lead responsibility for ensuring patients receive high quality nursing care delivery, which will be evidenced in the Fundamentals of Care Key Performance Indicators. The post-holder will be responsible for acting up on behalf of the Band 7 Dept Manager during protracted periods of absence, such as annual leave, study leave and sick leave.
Responsibilities
- The post-holder will regularly take charge of the ward/unit in the absence of the Ward Sister, and will lead a team of all bands of staff and co-ordinate care within all disciplines within the ward.
- In the absence of the Ward Sister, take charge of the ward and ensure staffing arrangements are maintained 24 hours per day.
- Ensure that programmes of care are carried out to optimum standards.
