Maternity Support Worker, Continuity of Midwifery Carer

The post holder is required to help and support midwives to provide a high standard of care to women, their partners and babies before, during and after birth.Please see employer website for full job details & person specification.

Responsibilities

  • Deal courteously with women, relatives, visitors, chaplains and others with whom they come in to contact in the course of their duties.
  • Communicate effectively with women and others taking in to account their clinical conditions and differing levels of ability to understand.
  • Observe and report any changes in the women’s physical and emotional condition or behaviour to midwifery staff.

Skills and Qualifications

  • To be eligible for trainee Maternity Support Worker Programme, individuals must have successfully completed their 6 month probationary period plus 6 months experience in a maternity setting.
