The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
The post holder will liaise closely with the Respiratory Consultants. The post holder will assist in developing and implementing an innovative and specialist outpatients nursing service caring for patients with the aim of facilitating improvements in the quality of respiratory services to patients in collaboration with members of the multidisciplinary teams in both primary and secondary care. The post holder will run clinics in line with pathway.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the service to be implemented supports patients with chronic Respiratory disease and incorporates the recommendations from the ICP Multi-Disciplinary Group (MDG).
- Ensure the processes are in place that will allow for mapping of the current outpatients pathway and collate data that reflects the service as it develops.
- Manage pathways for inpatient referrals for areas including oxygen assessments, sleep service and pulmonary rehabilitation.
- If and when required support Respiratory Inpatient Ward management.
Skills and Qualifications
- A Level 1 Registered Nurse on the live NMC Register (general adult branch).
- 2 years post registration experience (excluding courses) nursing patients with respiratory conditions.
- Hold a current full driving licence, which is valid for use in the UK, and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved by the Trust, which will permit them to carry out the duties of the post.
Experience over and above minimum
- Experience in non-invasive ventilation.
- Experience in Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
- Experience in Sleep Apnoea.
