The post holder will:
- Assess, develop, implement and evaluate patient/client care, under the guidance of the line manager.
- Provide person-centred nursing to ensure continuity of care within agreed standards.
- Contribute to effective team working and supervise qualified and/or unqualified staff.
- Comply with nursing strategy, trust policies, procedures, guidelines, protocols and codes of conduct adhere to Trust values.
- Comply with Northern Ireland Prison Service (NIPS) policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols as relevant to healthcare staff and Prison Rules.
Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with other members of the multi-disciplinary team in the delivery of mental health care services within Prisons.
- Undertake bio/psychosocial assessments of routine cases, and formulation of care plans to meet the identified needs of the patient.
- Undertake Risk Assessments and formulate risk management plans as per Promoting Quality Care: Good Practice Guidance on the Assessment and Management of Risk (2009).
- Review and evaluation of care plans and risk management plans on an ongoing basis.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Registered Nurse (Mental Health) on Part 1 of the live NMC Register.
- One year post-registration experience within a Mental Health Setting.
- Hold a current full driving licence which is valid for use in the UK and have access to a car on appointment. This criteria will be waived in the case of applicants whose disability prohibits driving but who have access to a form of transport approved.
