Ulster Hospital, Critical Care Block. Work with the Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Lead(s) to deliver a Trust-wide Infection Prevention & Control Service. This will include the prevention, detection, monitoring, evaluation and surveillance of infections as part of the Trust IPC Strategy.
Responsibilities
- Attend and contribute to the IPC Committee and other relevant committees as appropriate.
- Work autonomously and as a team leader in the provision of expert infection prevention and control advice to a wide range of staff and in the implementation of initiatives to reduce healthcare associated infection (HCAI).
- Be required to participate in the IPC on call rota and provide on-call expert IPC advice.
Skills and Qualifications
- A university degree, diploma or other Nursing/Midwifery qualification.
- Experience in leading on infection prevention & control initiatives at department level, managing a team and demonstrating clear outcomes and shared learning.
