The post holder is accountable for their service and will: promote and monitor safe and effective practice, enhance the patient / client experience,provide effective leadership and management contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives adhere to Trust values.The main purpose of the role is to act as a clinical expert, providing expert care, treatment and support for patients with breast cancers. The post holder will also be expected to contribute to advancing the body of knowledge through education, research and audit as well as developing practice in others with regard to this patient group. They will be expected to play a key role within the multi-professional team in order to ensure a seamless, co-ordinated approach to care and timely onward referral to other professionals and agencies as appropriate.Please visit jobs.hscni.net to see Job Description and Personnel Specification.

Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of Band 7 colleagues for the Breast Cancer CNS Team or other line manager in the development and review of the service and professional standards.
  • Provide information, advice and support to patients with breast cancer and their families / carers.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Have three years post-registration experience within a breast care nursing and/or oncology.
  • Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the live NMC Register.
  • Have obtained a diploma / degree.
