Belfast, Royal Victoria Hospital. The Phlebotomy Assistant is a member of the team who carries out assigned tasks which involve direct patient care and administrative tasks related to patient care. All tasks are conducted under the supervision of a registered nurse or member of medical staff and in accordance with the Trust guidelines. The Practitioner Assistant works within the competencies of the Practitioner Assistant role as defined in the HaN Competency Framework.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver all aspects of patient care under the supervision of a registered nurse, or a member of medical staff.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold NVQ/VRQ/QCF level 3 Certificate in Health/Health & Social Care or an equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience and competency of venepuncture.
- Previous experience and competency at IV cannulation.
