The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The main purpose of the role is to work in partnership with the Consultant team as a non-medical prescriber for patients within the Oncology service under supportive protocols and within the designated area of practice. Chemistry nurses, specialist nurses and oncology pharmacists will undertake reviews of patients receiving SACT when the patient does not require medical review. This will increase the flexibility of the SACT service and will help manage increasing workload. Patients within the Oncology service receiving systemic anti-cancer medicines will remain under the care of consultant medical or clinical oncologist.

The post holder will provide expert treatment and care, coordination and support for patients at an advanced practice level. They will also be expected to contribute to advancing the body of knowledge through education, research and audit as well as developing practice in others with regard to this patient group. The post holder will play a key leadership role in conjunction with other colleagues to lead the service and deliver the strategic elements of the service.

To work within the multi-professional team in order to ensure a seamless, coordinated approach to care and timely onward referral to other professionals and agencies as appropriate. The post holder will lead on service improvement within the Oncology SACT service.
