The post holder is designated to work as part of the multidisciplinary team to provide an enhanced service to patients with Multiple Sclerosis. The post holder will be responsible for the ongoing management of Multiple Sclerosis patients, ensuring the delivery of integrated high quality care across primary and secondary care. The post holder will work closely and liaise with all members of the multidisciplinary team to ensure a co-ordinated approach to care.
Responsibilities
- To support Medical Staff in primary and secondary care providing the best overall quality of care to patients suffering from Multiple Sclerosis.
- To assist in monitoring the level of service for Multiple Sclerosis patients.
- To work both independently and with colleagues to contribute towards developing a patient centred Multiple Sclerosis service across health care settings.
- To educate, support and counsel Multiple Sclerosis patients and their families to promote enhanced quality of life status.
Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Nurse on Part 1 level 1 on the live NMC Register.
- A minimum of two years post registration experience at band 5 or above.
- Have obtained or willing to undertake a post graduate qualification in Multiple Sclerosis / Neurology care.
- Post registration working with Patients with Multiple Sclerosis.
- Completion of a qualification in Multiple Sclerosis or Neurological Care.
