The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

The post-holder is responsible for the assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programs of care without supervision and will be required to teach qualified and unqualified nursing staff. The post-holder is designated to take charge regularly of the ward/unit in the absence of the person who has continuing responsibility.

Responsibilities

  • To liaise with nursing staff and others outside the immediate clinical area in order to promote integrated patient care.
  • To maintain personal contact with patients through ward rounds, conversations and to develop and maintain good communication with relatives regarding patients’ needs and welfare.
  • To advise and assist in the admission and discharge of patients in accordance with agreed policy.
  • To participate as a member of a multidisciplinary team in establishing practices/procedures for patient care.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Currently a Registered Nurse Learning Disability (RNLD) or Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) Part 1 Live NMC Register.
  • At least 2 years’ experience in Learning Disability at Band 5 excluding time spent in Post Registration Training OR 18 months Post Registration experience working within Dorsy.
  • Applicants with 18 months post registration experience will also be required to meet competencies to fulfil post under guidance of Ward Manager.
