Ward Sister/ Charge Nurse, Laurel House Chemotherapy Unit Band 7
The post holder will provide Leadership and Clinical expertise within Laurel House Oncology and Haematology Chemotherapy Out Patient and Treatment unit. The unit also provides and co-ordinates the Chemotherapy Triage Help Line Service. The post holder is responsible for the management of the area and the nursing staff, including deployment, supervision, teaching and development of students and other staff. The post holder will be line manager for the nursing team and have responsibility for the day to day management of Laurel House Chemotherapy Unit. The post holder is accountable for their ward/department and will promote and monitor safe and effective practice, enhance the patient/client experience, provide effective leadership and management and contribute to the delivery of the organisation’s objectives.
Responsibilities
- Adhere to Trust guidelines, policies and procedures.
- Management of the overall area and nursing staff.
Skills and Qualifications
- Registered Nurse on Part 1 of the live NMC Register
- Have a minimum of 1 years experience at Band 6 or above in an environment where chemotherapy is administered.
